I’m Erin Sweeney, your community midwife in the Wood River Valley. I tend female sovereignty and motherbaby vitalism through homebirth, bio-intelligent women’s health, plant medicine, and womb and pelvic healing.
My work is rooted in a fierce commitment to women’s collective, primal wisdom and our healing traditions.
Take a look around, and please reach out to let me know how I can support you!
There’s no place like home! Ancient midwifery was the sisterhood of women caring for one another from a place of innate knowing. Traditional midwifery, prior to integration into medical sciences, holds space for women to give birth instinctively in the comfort of their own homes, in their fullest power and authority. Contemporary midwifery brings modern tools and technology into the birth room when appropriate. I weave the three together in service of safe, bio-intelligent, woman-centered care.
My background in Ayurveda, Western Herbalism, Functional Medicine, and mind-body healing allow me to see the ecological landscapes of women’s bodies through a wide range of lenses.
The body is always striving for flow. I help women to understand and correct the root imbalances underlying their symptoms.
Hormonal, digestive, immunologic, mood, and pelvic organ problems can self-correct with treatments that honor the exquisite intricacy of the female body.
The more common conditions I work with are:
I began brewing up herbal tea concoctions when I was eighteen and almost three decades later not much has changed! You will likely leave my office with an infusion blend or two.
My clinic houses a dispensary of mostly western regional tinctures, dry plants, oils, flower essences and high quality supplements. I ethically, small-batch wildharvest and grow what I can in my little bosque forest. Providing you with bio-regional and sustainable medicines is my priority.
I offer drop-in days at the office during the winter and spring. All are welcome to stop in and pick up orders from 10-2pm. Please call ahead to confirm.
